Barbara Portman, (attorney, business consultant, theatrical producer and mother of three), began 2017 with a diagnosis of the rarest, most aggressive cancer in the world: Neuroendocrine Cancer. At the time of her diagnosis, she was given only 1-2 years to live and has decided to become an advocate for worldwide cancer research.
Immediately after Barbara’s diagnosis, she began chemo and started losing her hair. Shortly after Barbara started losing hair, her significant other, Nathan Carlisle (Two Time Grammy Award Winner), shaved her head and five minutes later was inspired to write a song entitled: PIECES OF YOU, PIECES OF ME. They are using the proceeds from the song to fund research and help to find a cure for this rare cancer with the time she has left. The song was released on iTunes on March 17, 2017. Nathan has been with the Metropolitan Opera Chorus since 2010. Prior to that, he served five years in the US Air Force, where he appeared 21 times at the White House.
Fans and supporters may donate at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) site directly or purchase the song on iTunes, to help raise significant dollars for cancer research.
